The first song i can remember ever hearing as a child was “Dont stand so close to me”.

I was four when my neighbours used to let me in to use their turntable and they had a seven inch single of the tune. I distinctly recall watching the disc spin and hearing that almost sinsiter synth bass intro and being fascinated, spellbound by the sensation of the music.

I’ve been listening to them ever since and prayed for their return. I have met Andy Summers, and shall be seeing them for a 3rd time in Stormont, Belfast next week where i’ll be taking shots for an Irish music mag.

My admiration and affection for them is truly boundless. I despair that there is nothing in contemporary music coming up behind them which displays the intelligence and sheer musicality of these 3 artistes.

if you purchased tickets for this show, check your tickets on there’s a huge issue with them moving people’s tickets and not telling them – to far worse seating.

Hi everybody, I’m coming from Europe to visit fabulous New York City and to see my fav band ever playing their last GIG in this outstanding venue which is Madison Sq Garden.. I’m really thrilled…

I cant even express my love for Sting, Andy and Stewart their music will live in my heart till the day I die, they rocked at Wembley when I first saw them live in 07, rocked the two shows in Manchester and made my day in Hyde Park on the 29th June. All I do is listen to them 24/7. And I hope I can make a trip to NY to see them for the very last time, they are just stunning, music wise and as people they are just amazing. Oh what I wouldn’t do to spend 10 minutes talking to them just telling them how much they mean to me and how their music has inspired me.

    I love you
    Sting, Stewart & Andy

God I could go on forever…

    Yes I’m madly in love

  5. Marcela says:

Yes, they are the greatest. Other than U2, there has been no band like the Police in the last thirty years.

  6. Luis Guereca says:

I’ve just confirmed my plans to fly to NY to see the Police play their final show together! I’m so excited! This will be my first time at Madison Square Garden. I’m so looking forward to this historical evening. Come on guys, play some tunes we haven’t heard yet on this reunion tour…play songs like Canary in a Coalmine, Secret Journey, On Any Other Day…mix it up a bit! Sting, I know you like to stick to the basics and to stay on a tight schedule, but please, please, go wild on this night. Play songs we haven’t heard you play in decades! Steward and Andy, get Sting to play songs not on the set list. See you guys August 7! Cha!

  7. Emily del Castillo says:

The show last night was THE BEST! They opened with Purple Haze! It was full of nice surprises like Sting getting shaved back stage. I was there for the Synchronicity Tour back in 83. I feel even more fortunate to have seen the last Police concert at MSG.
